Huawei Mate 40 receiving April 2022 HarmonyOS software update

Huawei has started rolling out the latest April 2022 security update for devices running on HarmonyOS and EMUI software systems. In the latest edition, the April 2022 Huawei software update has reached the flagship – the Huawei Mate 40 smartphone powered by HarmonyOS 2.0.

The new information reveals that the April 2022 update for the standard Huawei Mate 40 variant comes with HarmonyOS 2.0 version 2.0.0.233 updated from 2.0.0.230. However, this update is rolling out for the Chinese Mate 40 variant, as HarmonyOS is still limited to its home.

According to the changelog, the latest update installed the HarmonyOS security patch released in April 2022 for better system privacy and optimizes system stability, which helps the system run more smoothly.

Do you know what improved with the April 2022 HarmonyOS security patch? Well, it fixes common vulnerabilities found in the latest HarmonyOS system. It includes fixes for more than 49 CVEs belonging to framework, kernel, system, application and third-party libraries.

How to update:

There are two methods to update your Huawei smartphone and both are mentioned below.

Before updating, please make sure your smartphone should be 30% or more charged and also have enough storage to download and install the software update package.

Via Settings:

You need to open the settings menu on the smartphone, tap on system and updates, and then tap on software updates. From there, a page update page will appear on the screen with the option CHECK FOR UPDATES, tap the button and let the phone check for the latest update for you. Once the update appears on the screen, tap on the download and install option.

Via the My Huawei app:
